These instructions will help you to move your Gmail and Google Drive data from your scolonie.org account to your own personal Google account.

This process will work for faculty, staff, and graduating seniors.  This process is especially important for graduating seniors since accounts for students that have graduated or left the district will be deactivated September 1st.  Students leaving the district for other reasons should ask someone in the main office to submit an IT request to have the transfer process enabled for their account if they would like to do so.

  1.  Navigate to Google Takeout via this address: https://takeout.google.com/transfer
  2. If you are already logged in then you will be brought to the "Transfer your content" page.  If you're not logged in to your account already you will be asked to login.  Verify that you're logged in as your scolonie.org account instead of your personal Google account by clicking the circle in the upper right to show which account is currently active.

  3. Under "Enter a destination account" put in your personal Google account you'd like to transfer your data to, e.g. myemail@gmail.com.
  4. Click on "Send Code."

  5.  A code will be emailed to your personal Google account.  It may take a few minutes to arrive.  Once you receive it click on the "Get confirmation code" link in the email and it will bring you to a page to receive your code.

  6. Copy the string of numbers and letters under "Your confirmation code is"

  7. Return to the "Transfer your content" page from step #4.  If you navigated away from the page you can go back to https://takeout.google.com/transfer and it should still be waiting for the verification code.  Enter the confirmation code into the "Enter Code" field and click Verify.

  8. "Select content to copy and transfer" will come up.  Make sure the slider next to Drive and Gmail is  blue to transfer both your files and emails.  The confirmation will say "Copy and transfer to" and then list the destination account.  Click on "Start transfer" to transfer your files.
